Steel pipes and fittings are extensively utilised across Malaysia in water treatment plants, distribution networks, raw water transfer projects, and pipe replacement works under non-revenue water (NRW) management initiatives. The most commonly used variant is the Mild Steel Cement-Lined (MSCL) pipe, featuring an internal cement lining and an external bitumen coating. Mild Steel Polyurethane (MSPU) pipes, coated and lined with polymeric materials such as polyurethane, are also widely adopted for water applications.
