Villagepump – A compact, manual, water treatment system from The Netherlands, featuring a patented automatic backwash mechanism. Equipped with a prefilter, an ultrafiltration membrane filter and an activated carbon filter, the Villagepump system produces high quality safe drinking water which meets WHO Standards.
The Villagepump is engineered for user-friendly operation with minimal maintenance; enabling local communities to manage them independently once operational. Capable of treating various raw water sources from rainwater to river or stream water, these systems offer reliable access to clean water in underserved regions. An electricity-powered variant, known as the VP Auto, is also available for areas where electricity is available.

Compact, Lightweight and robust – Delivered complete in a compact casing, it is easy to transport and handle, even in hard-to-reach areas.
Easy Plug & Play Installation – Installation is very easy; requiring the inlet to be connected in order to start producing clean water.
Simple to operate and maintain – Clean water is produced through manually pumping action. The VP Auto variant runs on very small pumps, with only a start-stop button. The system is self-cleaning and membranes can last up to 5 years depending on the raw water quality, and can easily be replaced.
Low Energy or Manual Operation – The Villagepump does not require any electricity to operate; making it ideal in cases of water emergency after a natural disaster. The VP Auto requires only very minimal single-phase electrical power to function.
Automatic backwash – Patented, mechanical valve ensures that the system automatically backwashes itself at regular usage intervals to ensure that the membrane doesn’t foul easily and lasts long
