ECOTRAP is a communal grease trap designed to reduce the entry of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) into sewerage and drainage systems, preventing network blockages. Installed typically underground or in a basement, it receives wastewater from multiple sinks within a building. Available in vertical and horizontal designs, ECOTRAP uses multiple baffles to lengthen the flow path, allowing effective separation of FOG from water. Each trap features a mesh strainer at the inlet to capture food sediment. Periodic removal of collected FOG is required, either through mechanical methods (desludging tanker) or manual scooping and scraping.
